Works continue in various areas of the site however the main focus in this period remains in the Midthorn area of the site.
The new carriage and footpath construction has continued through the Midthorn area which now gives an indication of the new carriageway level when viewed through the original Midthorn underpass from the football stadium side.
The construction of the new storm water pumping station continued with the install of the Wet well and Valve chamber.
New storm water culverts have been installed under the footprint of the new footpath to the East of Midthorn, providing the new corridor for the numerous utility diversions.
Kerbing works have continued mainly on the A904 section of the site from Westfield to Midthorn including the footpath kerbs and the carriageway kerbs. The outline of the new carriageway is becoming more visible as works progress.
Following the successful diversion of existing utilities on the new A9 N/B section, works have restarted in the area to continue further utility diversion works and recommence the construction of the new footpath and carriageway.
Multiple utility diversions continue to progress across the site. The completion of these diversions are key to works commencing or recommencing in certain areas of the site. The existing utilities are currently contained within the existing footpath and carriageway which is under the footprint of the new carriageway. In order to construct the new carriageway, the new footpath has to be constructed first. This provides the new corridor, throughout the length of the project, for the utility diversions.
8 out of 15 utility diversions have been complete since the start of the project with a further 7 in progress.
1 area of the site is still undergoing settlement with works only recommencing in the area once the settlement has stopped.
The installation of the Traffic management on the A904 in the period enables the utility diversion and drainage works to progress and ultimately provides the working space to complete the E/B carriageway construction following the successful diversion of the utilities.
