A key milestone was reached in the project on the night of the 18th May 2026, when the new A904 Eastbound carriageway was open to traffic and the new footpath open to public use from Westfield to Earl’s gate. This facilitates works to commence on the existing carriageway including the demolition of the Midthorn bridge structure.
Construction works also commenced on Laurieston Road to form the new approach to the Westmains roundabout.
Works continued on the A9 with the construction of the new carriageway including installation of Street lighting and soft landscaping.
