New carriageway construction has continued through various areas of the site following the successful diversion of numerous utilities, which then permitted the removal of the existing road surface.
The construction of the new carriageway from Middlefield to Westfield continued with the re-alignment of the access bellmouth on this section planned to start early in the new year.
Similarly on the A904 Eastbound, the new carriageway construction is well under way in various sections along the route with the approach to the new Westmains roundabout progressing well.
Surfacing works have continued with footpaths and carriageways now receiving the final wearing course throughout the site.
The next key milestone in the project will see the traffic on the A9 from Westfield roundabout to Etna moved on to the new carriageway. This will allow the existing A9 to be replaced and the remainder of the new Gateway roundabout to be formed.
Utility diversions are still ongoing in some areas of the site. Following the successful completion of the remaining diversions, works will re-commence in these areas.
Pedestrian diversion routes remain unchanged at present. Please continue to follow the pedestrian diversion signs and use the footpaths provided.
