Progress Report

Works continue to progress in various areas of the site.

Alexander Avenue link road recommenced and works are planned to continue in this area the new link road and footpath are complete. The drainage outfall has been installed with works to the storm water attenuation system being installed and road construction to commence over the coming weeks.

The new footpath is the main corridor for a number of utility diversions. As such, the footpath construction continued on the North West corner of Westfield roundabout and will continue North towards the new Gateway roundabout.

Piling works recommenced on site following the review of the test piles with permanent piles installed to the utility protection slab on the North East corner of Westfield roundabout. Piling installation will continue in the Midthorn area for further utility protection slabs. Following the installation of piles, the reinforced concrete protection slabs will be constructed.

A number of utility diversions have commenced throughout the site. Elements of these diversion works will be contained within the site boundary, however these will also require works out with the site boundary in order to complete the diversion route.

Key to the project is the installation of the Traffic management which provides the safe working space to construct the new carriageway and carry out remedial works on the existing carriageway. The traffic management has now been installed on the A9 North bound from the Stadium Roundabout, through Westfield Roundabout and toward the pedestrian crossing at the Helix park. Traffic has been narrowed to minimum running lanes in each direction to allow for construction works to commence. On the completion of the new carriageway, the traffic can then be moved onto the new layout and construction works will be carried out in the Southbound.

There has been no change to the current pedestrian diversion route. Please follow the yellow and black diversion signs and use the temporary footpaths provided.
