October 2025

During this period, there were a number of key Utility diversions complete. The completion of these diversions releases the existing road surface to be removed safely and the construction of the new carriageway to re-commence. This key milestone in the project opens new areas of the site or allows works to re-commence where works previously started.

Works re-started in the Middlefield to Westfield section with the start of the widening of the existing carriageway at the tie in and progressing into the new carriageway construction towards Westfield. These works will continue with the installation of kerbing, new street lighting and signage and ultimately surfacing.

The new carriageway construction continued on the A9 Northbound section, through the new Gateway roundabout and towards Etna. Surfacing works were carried out on the new section of carriageway and the tie in of the new carriageway into the existing carriageway at the pedestrian crossing into the Helix toward Etna was successfully complete. Further surfacing works are currently being undertaken with traffic being moved onto the new carriageway in the near future to facilitate similar works to be carried out on the Southbound section of the A9.

The existing road surface has been removed throughout the majority of the A904 Eastbound section within the site boundary following the diversion of numerous utilities which now permits the new carriageway construction to re-commence. Works will re-commence in these areas with the construction of the new carriageway.

Key utility diversions continue throughout the project and works will re-commence in remaining areas as they become available.
